Frequently Asked Questions

What Happens During Treatment?

A short consultation will take place to establish any presenting issues a client may have, and why they would like ear reflexology.

The client is made comfortable on the treatment couch, laying on their back for the treatment. The therapist stands behind the client for ear reflexology. If combining ear reflexology with a foot reflexology treatment, the treatment will begin with ear reflexology, then moving on to a full foot reflexology treatment.

If required, small vaccaria ear seeds, which are derived from the vaccaria plant, may be used to stimulate specific acupressure points on the ears. The seeds are held in place with some adhesive tape. Ear seeds work by applying pressure to acupressure points which send signals for the body to heal itself. Ear seeds are ideal to apply if targeting specific issues such as pain management, stress and anxiety. They may also be effective for muscular skeletal tension, insomnia, depression, headaches/migraines, skin conditions plus more.

The seeds act as a marker for clients, showing them where to locate and press, to continue stimulating the pressures points after the treatment. Ear seeds help to support the treatment if wanting to address symptoms both physically and emotionally. It is similar to acupuncture but without the use of needles.
